Anwar al-Awlaki biography

Anwar al-Awlaki (also spelled Aulaqi, Arabic: al-Anwar أنور العولقي'Awlaqī, April 22, 1971 - September 30, 2011) was a Yemeni-American  Imam who was an engineer and educator training.  According to U.S. officials, was a talented senior recruiter and motivator, who has been involved in the planning and the Islamic militant group al-Qaeda.  He was involved in will help to motivate at least three attacks on American soil,  and was the first American citizen to be added to the list persons approved by the CIA in the murder.   a blog, Facebook page, and many videos on YouTube, has been described as "Bin Laden and the Internet." U.S. President Barack Obama Awlaki has been described as the "director of external operations of Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula."
Al-Awlaki, I said, trained and preached to a number of members of Al Qaeda and its affiliates, including three of the hijackers of 9 / 11,  Fort Hood alleged shooter Nidal Hasan Malik, and the alleged "suicide bomber on Christmas Day" Omar Faruk Abdulmutallab, , which also participated in planning to attack.

According to U.S. officials, al-Awlaki was promoted to the rank of "local commander" in al-Qaeda in 2009.  He repeatedly called for jihad against America.  In April 2010, Barack Obama endorsed Al-Awlaki targeted killings  an action unsuccessfully challenged by al-Awlaki father and civil rights groups.
Al-Awlaki was believed to be hiding in southern Yemen, the last years of his life. the government of Yemen has started to try him in absentia in November 2010 for plotting to kill foreigners, and that al-Qaeda in Yemen, and the judge ordered that was taken "dead or alive."  American unmanned drones were sent to Yemen to find and kill him,  to shoot and not to kill him at least once,  before he was killed in drone attack in Yemen, Sept. 30 2011.
